The 2013 Ducati Superbike 1199 Panigale

The heart of this bike built in superquadro 1198cc type L-twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder, desmodromic, liquid cooled, fuel injection addapted Mitsubishi electronic fuel injection system, twin injectors per cylinder, full ride-by-wire, elliptical throttle bodies. The increased amount of air and fuel the engine can mix due to the larger diameter of intake valves is guaranteed by the new oval-sectioned throttle bodies, which compared to a 63.9 equivalent diameter. The throttle bodies are controlled by a full Ride-by-Wire system, each separate from the other and are fitted with 2 injectors each.
The 1199 Panigale's chassis marks an different components have been integrated to give shape to a single compact and lightweight element. The monocoque frame is fixed directly to the cylinder head, and at front are two aluminium bushings inserted with the steering tube bearings. The monocoque also acts as an air-box and significantly contributes to lowering the overall weight of the motorcycle.
For suspension the 1199 Panigale used Marzocchi 50mm pressurized and fully adjustable usd fork with hard anodized aluminum lightweight slider in front and fully adjustable Sachs unit, adjustable linkage with progressive/flat, aluminum single-sided swingarm in rear side. For braking, this bike used double 330mm semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo Monobloc M50 4-piston callipers with ABS optional +2.5kg (+5.5lb) in front side and 245mm disc, 2-piston calliper in rear side.
