2013 BMW R 1200 GS


BMW Motorrad has released the official specs for its revamped 2013 R 1200 GS. This is BMW’s top adventure-touring bike, which enters its ninth year of production as a 1200 model. The new feature is redesigned engine produces 125 horsepower at 7700 rpm, up 15 horsepower from the air-cooled 1170cc engine of 2012. 


The new model features the new 1170cc boxer engine with Air/liquid-cooled, four stroke flat twin engine, double overhead camshaft, one balance shaft, engine management used Electronic intake pipe injection / BMS-K+ digital engine management with electromotive throttle actuator, constant mesh 6-speed gearbox with helical gear teeth, three-phase alternator 580 W (nominal power). The engine also completed with emission control (Closed-loop 3-way catalytic converter, emission standard EU-3).

The 2013 BMW R 1200 GS used double frame, bolted on rear frame, load-bearing engine. Besides that this bike used ABS system also aplicatted standard BMW Motorrad Integral ABS (part-integral), can be switched off for off road riding. For reduce the speed, BMW R 1200 GS used dual floating discs, diameter 305 mm, 4-piston radial calipers in front and single disc, diameter 276 mm, double-piston floating caliper in rear.
The 2013 BMW R1200GS, which is available in in four colors: Alpine White, Racing Red, Blue Fire and Thunder Grey Metallic.
